Question Changing a starter motor?

Can anyone advise me on how to remove a starter motor from a 97 Wagon?

Mines packed up and i wanted to know

1) Where it is under the bonnet

2) How many bolts it is etc and how easy it is....

Thanks

Easy job , remove intercooler for more room and then you will see the starter near the top on the passenger side , disconnect battery undo live wire and other terminal from starter and undo two bolts and its out !

Question

right, got it off and found the problem....

One of the bolts holding it in has clean snapped off, and was hanging half off!

So 2 more questions really,

1) Is this the starter motor?

2) Would having a new clutch fitted recently be related to this, i.e can I blame the mechanic that did it ?? I only ask this as the car has NEVER had any problems and all of a sudden after a week of driving it this happend..

thanks guys

Yes you take it off to work on the clutch. The starter engages on the flywheel so it's pretty much one of the first things to take off before tackling stuff down there. Maybe it was tightened up too much? Is the other half still there?
