It would help if you stated what type of management you intend to use?
And what age/model the car is?

EcuTek?
PFC?
Link?
etc.....

May be a good idea to speak to them, wouldn't be my choice but if you don't have the licence then it'll cost you more to have it remap else where.

Do you know if you have a licence?

I'd talk to either Paul Blamire at Zen performance in Wellingborough or Bob Rawle BRD in Swindon, personally not used Paul for mapping he used to service the car but he's a nice guy and very well respected, Bob mapped my old car 4 times and i have nothing but praise for the guy, very knowledgeable and has a reputation to go above and beyond to get things right.

If you're in the south, my advice would be to take it to Bob Rawle for a Tek 3. You will have to wait, but with good reason, his skills are in demand!

Nice guy too, who is genuinely enthusiastic about what he does and wants to see you happy with the car!

I's agree with the above. Paul is a top bloke who will go out of the way to help you out and, will work out of hours to ensure the map is carried out to his standard.... Top guy and very knowledgable.

My brother just completed a 2.5 conversion with Zen and I just had a strengthened 2.0 build carried out.

The service provided was second to none and the advice given was very genuine and extremely helpful...

For an Ecutek map (Tek 3) you will struggle to do better than Bob Rawle. He can give you a lot of helpful advice and verify the licence situation on your existing ECU.

I'd say go to Special Scoobies based in Colchester, or Engine Advantage in Witham. Both really good, they know their stuff and deal with highly modded cars all the time.

Yes mate they do. They pretty much do anything you need. Give them a call, Andy the owner is very helpful. Their number is 01206 760074.

I also have a MY99 with a tek 2 map by Power Engineering. I was considering fitting a TD05 before christmas, so I phoned PE and asked them when they could fit me in for a remap. 'Sorry sir, not sure if we can do a remap with a different turbo!' 'Excuse me,' I said, ' I thought you were the "power experts"?'

He basically told me that Pat or Bob would be a better option. To be honest, I don't think PE like touching anything else but near standard cars.
Lots of faith in their mapper then!

Got my exhaust from Special Scoobies, was well happy with their service 10 out of 10. Even better if they affair proper re-maps, as at the end of this year when my warranty runs outs car will be booked in with them for a full de-cat, then re-map.

Would anyone know though if they use a pre-programed ECU, or get it on some rollers or something?.

On a similar token, is there one (or two) companies regarded as the best at fault finding?

They don't have a rolling road. They do a live map on the road, in my opinion that is better way of doing it anyway as the car is tuned under real driving conditions.

That I'm aware of they can get their hands on any type of engine mangement from pre-pragrammed, replacement items and stand alone engine mangement.

All sounds good. Makes sence I guess to have a real road re-map. Roll on December (warranty runs out) or should I get it sooner , or is that tempting fate/sods law.

I assume you've seen Andy's 22B?, and heard it
