Default HOW TRICKY TO CHANGE INTERCOOLER? (slanted type to STi)

Hello, I am thinking of changing my original (slanted import type) wrx intercooler to a larger type.
I've seen a STi intercooler on ebay thats off a bugeye STi and was wondering if it would fit???

Are they tricky to replace or has anybody any advise as to whats the best alternative to the original one.

Many thanks

I doubt that the sti tmic from that model will fit your car. As the length is too big, so it won't clear the rear bulkhead.

You could fit the wrx version but it will need some additonal work.
sti3 to sti6 would also fit with some additonal work.

Its a Classic 1993 wrx type RA. Most of the finns on the cooler are bent or snapped through wear n tear aswell which is probably restricting air flow.

Jasonius How much are you after for your 05 TMIC???

I used the above thread to fit an STI 8 intercooler to MY99 uk car.....

However it is harder to fit the intercooler to an earlier car as there is less room due to the different inlet manifold

See here https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...oler-my94.html

It might be worth going to a newage WRX or even a version 4 intercooler as according to these tests AutoSpeed - Top-Mount Trial - Part One AutoSpeed - Top-Mount Trial - Part Two they flow the best.

Maybe interested mate. Could you give me some more info on the splitter as I have'nt heard of this bit of kit before (only normal front bumper splitters lol).
