Default Turbo ID Plate

Hi guys,

Quick question....I am trying to find the plate on my turbo to tell me which turbo it is. I have had a good look and can't find it anywhere. My car is a MY93 Classic Jap Import WRX Saloon. I have been told it is the TD05 but I think it is the TD04 as it cuts in at 2,500 RPM.
Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

its not a plate as such but more of a part of the casting and it can be found on the compressor housing, not sure if you can see it while the turbo is still fitted mind you, you will deffo have to remove the heat sheild though.

Cheers mate...I will look again tonight and see if I can see it. Rather do it without removing bits if I can!!
Am I just looking for TD04/05 and a part number?? Or will there be more info than that??

Cheers

Even a manufacturer will be a large enough clue. As Im sure Ive said before it wont be a TD04 though, unless its a 'Wagon or an automatic. Its likely to be a Mitsubishi TD05 but if its a very early MY93 then it could be (from memory) an IHI VF series turbocharger.

Thats quite funny you should say that as my 93 wrx has a IHI turbo.
You don't happen to know what VF series it is do you?

it will say TD04/05 on it quite clearly when you find it, same as the VF series, it will be on there somewhere and you will be able to identify exactly what it is.
