I've decided to go for a VF35 as it spools a little quicker than a VF34 although it won't have as good a top end, however as UK turbo's only have a 7000rpm redline not 8000rpm like the STI's I don't think that will matter as much.

A Front Entry Converted TD05 seems to be the most common turbo used for your spec.(Can be bought for around £250-300 now)

It is proven and reliable @350bhp although you will need other mods to achieve this

doesn't the TD05 spool later than the VF34,

I think it was Floyd on here who went from a VF35 to a TD05 and didn't like it as the spool was that much later, there is a thread on it somewhere.

I think it does but i'm sure its only marginal but the TD05 has a better top end.

I think its probably best you get your mappers opinion as they will have the facts to back up their opinions

I suppose at the end of the day its down to personal choice. I don't tend to take my car over 5500rpm so want the fastest spooling turbo available for low down punch.

If you rev the car further eg an STI with 8000rpm red line a turbo with a better top end would be better.

As always this is just IMO
