heat sheild
hi iv got an import sti wagon my96,it dosent have a turbo heat sheild,iv bought one,chimney type,but it dosent line up with any bolts,any one know if this is the correct one i need,its a bellmouth down pipe,any help would be great,cheers

There will be a braket on the top of the turbo which is attached with the same bolts the downpipe uses. Another bracket is bolted to the gearbox iirc, a long one that comes up. It also bolts on the the side of the turbo i think and would have bolted to the heat shields that would have been on the OE downpipe.
BUT...
the heat shield on the OE downpipe wont fit on a larger bore or bell mouth de-cat pipe and the chimney heat shield wont fit over the bell mouth either.
I modified my chimney type heat shield to fit over the wider bell mouth and bolted it to the gearbox bracket, turbo bracket and what seemed to be the side of the turbo but my de-cat was heat wrapped too so its really cool under my bonnet. You might not have the other brackets if ya didnt have the heatshield tho.

cheers gaz,when i bought the car there was no heat sheild,so iv no brackets,they have been discarded,iv ordered heat wrap for my down pipe,hopefully that will do the job,unless i can get some brackets made up,thanks guys
