Yep the heat mat stuff you can buy from B&Q
This is a direct quote from the email Harvey was kind enough to send me
'I use a cardboard template to get the basic shape and it is the same for all Classic STis, WRX etc. In fact, on thinking about it, it is the same template I use for New Age cars too. I cut the carbon fibre from a large sheet and while the photographs you have don't show it on my own car I leave the side facing the drivers side inner wing as carbon fibre and put a layer of heat wrap on the other side facing into the engine bay with the silver side facing the engine.
This gives a good heat barrier.
I have a brake scoop mounted on the flat plastic inner wing surface, facing the ground in front of the drivers front wheel. On to that I have plastic welded 30mm plastic strips on two sides and at the back and this juts in to the air flow and forces air in to the inner wing.
The hole in the inner wing is enlarged allowing a free flow of cold air in to the filter area.
The rubber strip above the headlight is removed from the bonnet.'
