Default boost solinoid doesnt click

Hi all

I have a question relating to the boost solinoid on my 01 bugeye wagon.

I recently set the car up in self check mode and tried to fire some brake cleaner down it but i couldnt get any in there.

I have been told that it should make a clicking noise, but mine didnt make any sound at all.

Does this mean the solinoid is cream crackered and if so would this cause the car to not boost properly?

Thanks in advance for any responses

Apparently they don't click on a bugeye in test mode. I tried the same on my bugeye and thought it was knackered. Squirted some cleaner fluid in the pipe work and took it for a run to clean it out.

just been through all the testing, cleaning etc.

So how do you test the boost solenoid?

Did you replace yours after this thread? If not did you get to the bottom of the problem?

No i didn't replace the solenoid, in the end i just cleaned it and it's been fine (fingers crossed). To test it i kept putting 12v on the connections and listened for the clicking
