Which head gasket for EJ25T running high boost.
Which head gasket for EJ25T motor running high boost?. I'm in the process of rebuilding my 2.5L running high boost on a TD05 20g. Which make and thickness of gasket is best suited for the job and where can I purchase one from?.
Thanks in advance

cometic seems to be a name batted around.
Not sure a 20g will hold 1.8 for very long on a 2.5!! nice midrange punch though

Remember gasket thickness will also play a part in your final compression ratio so that should be based other variables other than what boost you want to run.

In theory, you can run a 20G at 1.8bar to a max of about 4700rpm, but then you will need to tail it off.
In practice, as Neil said, I don't think it will last too long.
If you want to Create a Monster, I'm not certain a 20G will be big enough.

Just bought Cometic head gaskets .040" thickness, I'm going to stick with the 20g turbo for the time being as spent far to much money already and my mrs would hit the roof if I decide to purchase a rotated Garret baby. I'll be looking towards remapping in March 2007 and was interested in what the optimum boost pressure to run at, taking running temperatures in to account. Like everyone else I get bored with the power easy and constantly looking towards having more.

What year heads are you using ? .4mm head gaskets are very thin, and will most likely give very high compression. It's not something I would suggest
Are you sure it's .4mm (16 thou) ?

There is no real point in porting and polishing the heads for your application given you are starting with the v3 cams and the TD05 20g. As an example rcm charge 590 for porting and IMHO you can spend that kind of money elsewhere for now and get a better return.
