Default Brake Question

Fitted my 2 pot rear claipers today onto my classic WRX.

It stops much much better than before....but thats probably because the old ones i took off weren't working.

The only thing is when i brake hard (emergency stop....was testing the brakes) the ABS kicks in very early.

Anyone know why it is doing this...or am i just so used to driving with poor brakes?

Cheers

Gary
