Default Fuel Pump Prob?

Coming home tonight and the scoob gave up the ghost. Was mis-firing and had no power at all. Thinking it might be the fuel pump as on the limp home it was struggling to get up hills.

Question is;
Is swapping the fuel pump a hard task. Any tips and a walk through would be greatly appreciated.

Massive thanks in advance

I would start more simply first off, Plugs,leads, Coil Packs, Lambda Sensor, Check the fuel pressure before changing the pump that will give you an indication, Not that many fail they just deliver less pressure.

Hey Dean, just had the back seats out and the pump sounded fine this morning, so could poss rule that out.

The plugs were done about 3k agoso should be fine.

Not sure what else it could be? It started this morning but ran like crap again missing a lot.

I haven't got the first idea where to start checking plugs and leads as I don't know a thing about subarus???

Any other tips people?

Have a search on here about reading the fault codes in the ECU, and see what that tells you. It will point you in the right direction.

forgot to mention that at no point has the check engine light come on.

Been reading the posts and most say check the MAF, I might go outside in a min or might just put the back seats back in and leave it to a pro

Turns out that when the fuel pump went it caused the engine to jump a few teeth on the timing belt.

Once jase and chris got hold of it at scooby bits it was sorted in no time.

Cheers fellas

PS Hope the hand is ok Jase
