V6 Sti egine into a version4?
Hi. due to big end failure I'm unsure what to do. One route is A V6 sti ino my own car( a version 4 STI wagon). This engine is coming with warrenty and an uprated oil pump.
Will it run in my car as I've an Apexi Power Fc or will I need to buy a V6 ecu also and get the apexi mapped again.
Thanks for any help. Cheers
John

Your inlet manifold won't fit the V6 heads, if all you're getting is the long engine without ancillaries.
A possibility is to put your V4 heads on the V6 short engine, but I assume that will invalidate any warrenty. However the V6 heads are worth quite a bit and will more than pay for the extra cost in gaskets and additional labour for the head swap.
All depends on how much this long engine is. It may be better to source a short engine or even rebuild your own
