Default decat dwn pipe vs sport cat!

alright fellas! just a quick question. im thinking of either getting a decat dwn pipe or ninja sport cat to go with my afterburner exhaust! which would be better. sport cat is more pricey. or would i be better of getting the cat put back on when its mot time! is this a big job and would the garage charge alot for doing it. also performance wise are they the same. and will it be a noticble power and noise gain! new to all this any advice would be welcome..... thanks!

Personally I'd go for the sports cat. Saves the hastle of changing back once a year... and also saves you if you get a roadside emissions test.

As quoted by SCOOBYWORLD....

"Flow rate is only very slightly lower than that of a de-cat downpipe, due to the high flow design of the sports cat."

"it easily passes UK MOT yet provides almost all the power of a decat downpipe"

Depends on what your aspirations are. If you're chasing big power, I'd go for the full decat. If you're content with "just" low 300's bhp or so, i.e. exhaust, remap, and not too big a turbo, then I'd go for the sports cat. I doubt you'll notice the performance difference, it'll be emmissions compliant all year round, and changing the downpipe for every MOT is a bit of a pain - you have to take the intercooler off, bolts are awkward to get to and often seize, etc.

Just sold my 3'' DP decat off my 407 bhp Sti V3 to fit a sport cat, but finding a 'cheap' 3'' one is a bit tricky.
The Ninja's can be had with a 3'' mod all-through.

The quality looks v good on the Ninja.
Graham.
