Manual boost controller
The question here is that I'm looking to buy one and I wondered if I needed to get the car re-mapped for either low boost, or just the occasional boost or could I just run it without re-mapping it (I am getting a boost gauge too)?
The car is a MY96 UK turbo
Thank you

Hi,
If you are setting it to the same boost as it is now you will be ok. Any increases you are wise to get it on the rollers with proper monitoring to make sure its not detonating. I had mine on last night and its factory boost is 0.9 bar, itself is running at 1.1 and i can also increase further knowing i have plenty of fuelling going on. But i didnt know that until it was on the rollers with the wideband lamda hooked up.
Also its wise to get a knock sensor (detalarm is good value for money from roojai). If it starts lighting up you've gone too far. As a general rule of thumb you can normally extract 10-20% power out of a standard map but dont attempt anything unless you have the tools or someone that does.
