That's a new one on me. I thought the TD05 came in three guises: 16g, 18g and 20g with each one having increased potential power outputs.

Maybe it's some kind of hybrid....although use of the term "big turbo" sounds distinctly non-technical and is probably just someone descriving it!

The small has 1.830"/2.365" compressor wheel and the large has 1.892"/2.680" compressor wheel iirc! and its not a hybrid and is real lol

It uses real off the shelf Mitsubishi parts if that's what you mean but the big 16G compressor wheel and cover has never been packaged with a Subaru pattern exhaust housing so in my book that makes it a hybrid.

So does that mean that the exhaust side is the same?

Well I thought you could buy them from the factory in those trims so I wouldn't class that as a hybrid.....now to swap out the exhaust housing thats different....but the turbo themselves are not hybrids....
