Default Irregular RPM at Idle 2007

Hello everyone,

I got a brand new 2007 Impreza, none Turbo two weeks ago. This is after having two Jettas and deciding to switch to old trustworthy Japanese cars.

So, from the first day I've noticed that at idle RPM do not stand still and issolate between 500-1100, it wasn't doing all the time so I thought maybe I need to brake it in and everything is going to be fine. As days've gone by, I've noticed that it began to do it more and more often. So, last friday I've decided that I'm taking back to the dealer and making them diagnos it. At the end of the day they told me that it is normal for these cars and it will happen when I turn on the AC. Let me tell you guys, for all of the time I've had this car I clicked on the button only once and that was to see if it works

It was end of the day and I told them that I'm coming back to see if all of the cars will be doing that and by the way I stopped by the sales man that sold me and ask him, he told me that his WRX is rock solid on 750, where mine seem to was to stay at 500.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Doesn't sound right. Must be a dud sensor somewhere or naff idle valve. A/C changes the engine load a bit and it is noticeable but nothing like what you're experiencing. Go back to the dealer and insist, its their problem.

My car is out of warranty now so I can go to a specialist. Many main dealers are useless. I'd expect your treatment from my local dealer who I no longer go near.

Thank you very D1CCY! I hate those guys, I've been going over there for some years now, since they are also VW service center. They have no idea what the hell is going on with their cars.
