tuning my uk turbo 2000.
firstly hi every1, i am a new scooby owner and i want to get straight into tunin it up and was after a bit of advice.
basically its a turbo 2000. year 2000. it has either the ej20g or 25g engine (not 100 percent sure as i dont hav the car in front of me now.)
it has a few minor mods and im told its runnin bout 230bhp.
im lookin for 300-350bhp. basically what will i need to buy to do this, please tell me the sort of price for each part also and where i can find it. i see there is loads of nice stuff in the shop bit but theres so much i dont know what imm lookin for lol.
i have a idea of what i need pls tell me otherwise if im wrong. obvously i would like to keep prices down but i know its an expensive car to tune.
i think i need
better turbo? which 1
injectors
ecu or map
boost controller
exhaust/header
intercooler?
anythin else.
any help is much appriecated, im just on a hunt for power now lol.
cheers nick j

EJ205 if it's a standard engine.
1994cc (2.0L)
Simple VF34 turbo for 300BHP (but not a great deal more 320 ish max)
Remap the ECU with ECUTEK
No need for a separate boost controller at all. (3 port solenoid works better and leaves control with the ECU)
550cc injectors. (for 300BHP you could leave standard but upping that to 350 and you need to think about the 550's)
3" exhaust system (Milltek)
Hybrid or Lateral performance front mount intercooler (hybrid is the cheap end)

Cheers for PM, may as well write it here...
Gearbox will be short lived if you aim for the high end of your power goals, as will the clutch.
Probably better off looking for a six speed box linkage and propshaft (needs to come off of an "STi Type UK "if you dont want to go messing with diff ratio's as well)
Wouldn't go looking for boost pressures over 1.4 BAR on a standard engine.
Stay with the standard airbox, just fit a good flowing panel filter (K&N)
tubular equal length headers, although you'll lose the duga duga sound of the boxer engine...
TD05 16/18G Turbo will probably get you where you want to go.
Everyone raves about them on here but I haven't worked with one of these personally....
A 3" exhaust system is a definite improvement (gas flow wise) over a 2 3/4" system and is quieter than the equivalent smaller one (gas speed slower so more noise absorbed)
Boost is controlled by the ECU if you use a 3 port solenoid, it's not a standard fit on 2000 MY cars but is available. Just tell your mapper what boost you want to run (within reason)
