water in boot

Default water in boot

Hi newbi here from hampshire subaru. i come across around a litre of water in my spare wheel compartment any ideas where it would be comming from

Probably through the rear light seals.

i have checked all that but no leaks thinking it could be boot seal but then all the carpet would be wet not just a part of it

just seen you have an 03 sti so you have a intercooler water bottle in boot it could of cracked or pipe come off etc also check spoiler holes

Possibly coming through the holes where the boot spoiler attaches. Have you had an aftermarket boot spoiler fitted, thats where mine came from. Removed, refitted and resealed spoiler - all dry now

Old trick for finding water sources was to get a large blusher makeup brush and dab some talcum powder around any suspicious leaking points. Water will leave a trail through the talc, may or may not be any use to you.
