Default Knocklink fitting help

I have my knocklink wired up, and have tested it and its working fine.
Now I'm trying to mount the bosch sensor on the block. I have been told that a 30mm M8 nut will fit in a threaded hole on the passenger side under the intercooler. I can't find this hole. Heres a picture of my block under the passenger side intercooler along with all the holes I can locate in it. I have tried an M8 bolt in the hole with an arrow on but it won't thread at all. Is this the right place?

I have now put the sensor on the car, and its picking up a spanner tapping the metal next to it. However Isn't this the gearbox and not the block?

NO, it IS the block, the very slight line you can see in that picture to the right of the sensor is where the gearbox and block join....
