STI V3/V4 cilinder-heads
Hello,
I'm looking for STI V3/V4 cilinder-heads. Could someone help me with some questions? These heads have a higher rev-limit right? How many rpm? The STI V3/4 is the new engine-type right?(I have a MY98) What is the going price for a couple of good-state heads?
Thanks,
Robert

STi V3/4 heads have a different valve train to the UK97/98 heads although the actual head castings are the same.
Differences are:
The cams have higher lift and longer duration (V3 slightly higher than V4)
Underbucket rather than overbucket shims (less likely to spit out a shim).
Stronger valve springs (so less valve bounce at higher revs)
Sodium filled exhaust valves (lighter and more suitable for higher ex.gas temps).
All this means that in good condition they will flow more and be more comfortable at up to 8K RPM.
They are in great demand, expect to pay anything from £400-£600 for a complete set, and given that they are at least 8 years old and more likely than not to have come off a car with a failed engine they will need checking over by someone who knows what they are doing. You can very quickly spend a lot of money on heads
