Default SAFC advice

Hi,

Was just looking at flat4online (after buying myself a pair of strut braces for a nice price) and spotted the Apexi SAFC II.

I was wondering if anyone has one installed and how easy it is to set up? I cant afford the power fc and mapping but can prob stretch to the SAFC. If i turn up my boost with a dawes (maybe get an avcr in the future), and i get knock would the SAFC allow me to pump in more fuel to stop the knock?

I have a detalarm on its way, boost guage and AF meter installed....

Cheers

Hi,

Thanks for the info, where do you get them from? I have a phase 1.5 ecu with the 3 plugs and so far have found no way of doing anything to it without replacing it....

Would these options still work with my ecu (its an early MY98) before the 4 pot brakes were introduced.

ok the unichip is about the same price as a mapped power fc, too much unfortunately. The e-manage looks good and you can get it for a good price, 300-350 for appropriate connectors and software etc.

I assume that the e-manage has to be set up from scratch? i.e. can i do it, knowing very little about fuel/ignition timings etc...?

Thanks

Hi,

The e-manage looks like a good VFM mod, has anyone got one installed and what they have it controlling? i.e. ignition/fuelling etc ? Also did you have to get it re-mapped or is the pc program quite helpful?
