Default Missing, laggy and hesitant.....urgent help needed!!

Well,i thought i was just being a bit oversensitive with my 2000 model UK Turbo, but i did not drive it on Monday,we had a lot of rain, and when i started it on Tuesday it was running a bit lumpy and was hesitant to rev(once warm obviously),and seems to be really laggy all of a sudden.

I thought i had noticed it being a bit "lumpy" for a couple of days previously, almost like it needed a bit of a blast to clear it through, but as i say,on Tuesday it was much more noticeable, which i put down initially to it being stood in the rain and maybe got a bit damp somewhere, and i have to say,it does seem much better today when i drove it,but could there be something else amiss?

It is booked into the garage on Friday for them to have a look at it,but just wondered if i could "help"them towards a possible problem?

To me(with my very limited mechanical knowledge)it seems like a possible Spark Plug or Lead problem, although it has done less than 4k since the plugs were changed.

The car runs and idles like it always has,the turbo boosts the same(according to the boost guage),the oil temp and pressure seem the same(again according to the guages) and there are no additional noises................oh,and the car has done 64k!!!

Sorry it is a bit long winded, but i thought it best to put the symptons and everything else,to help with a diagnosis

Cheers guys

Sounds the same as the problem i had, its done it a few times on and off and have never got to the bottom of it. It was also after a period of heavy rain and the car had stood still for a day or so...

Bugger......................i hate having a problem that cannot be fixed, especially when it is potentially very cheap/simple or easily solved by the "right" person!!!

Is the "right" person out there guys???

Hi, im getting a very similar problem, the car had been sat for two days, in the rain and when i started it it is jerky, untill i rev it. At idle it sounds rattly untill warm, almost like it's running on 3. This has been like it now for over a week. Going to clean what i can this weekend.

Seems odd that they all seem to be rain related eh...

Although it happened to me a couple of weeks ago while i was cruising along at 50 then when i accellerated slightly in 5th to go into the 70 zone it was missing. Dropped into 4th and give it a little beans to get me up to 70 and it was fine. Before this point i had been driving for 150 miles non-stop and it was running really well. Weird...

Mine was running on 3 intermittently earlier in the week. Didn't feel like a spark misfire on boost as didn't get worse with increasing rpm/load, also no unburnt fuelin manifold/exhaust.

Tracked it down to the No.1 cylinder injector connector had come a little loose.

HTH

the same things happens to mine when it rains heavily it may missfire when on boost but will only do it once or twice then perfect after that. it sometimes happens when i'm driving in heavy rain.... i though it could have been water getting to the coilpacks and causing a missfire... but it has to be rain related.....

moisture affects readings, maybe just running a little rich.

Well, the garage last week had a quick look at it and could not find a problem with it so i booked it into a specialist for tomorrow but took it down this morning, and just had a call to say it could be the Oxygen Sensor,or another sensor that i have forgotten, but that it is definately one or the other(or both!!)so they are going to replace them both and i will hopefully get the car back tomorrow all fixed ...................fingers crossed!!
