I have a 03WRX and last week the CEL appeared, the car is idling between 1300 + 1400rmp. This apprears to be when the car is cold but if you let the engine heat up, switch off then start it again the CEL stays on but the car is idling fine. Has anyone else had this problem, please help!!!

 

sounds like throttle valve sensor could be costly if full component needs relacing,pop to your local garage and they will check it out and see which bit needs replaced,mine was £200 i think

Yep....Idle control...£180 plus VAT for the newage

Take the idle control valve off the top off the inlet manifold and clean it out with carb cleaner.
