Panel filters
I have just done a search on panel filters to see if a replacement for the standard STI unit is worth it, unfortunately i'm still unsure.
Opinions seem to vary regarding oil content and effects they have etc.
I was thinking along the lines of a green filter but stumbled across a K&N filter on Revolutions web site claiming that the K&N filter doesn't invalidate your warranty.
Anyone shed any light on this claim as i thought it would invalidate the warranty.
Also, anyone got a green filter and do you have any comments, positive or negative.
Nik.

You may find part 1 of engine mods interresting reading regarding the K&N panel.

"Overall the results showed that this specific uprated panel filter worked well to produce an impressive result."

No probs, I've read that article quite a few times, theres a lot of useful snippets of info in there from ppl who really know what they are talking about.
I think it's mainly earlier MAFs and the bigger cone induction K&Ns that people refer to when talking about the oil affecting the MAF. I suppose it also depends if ppl oil their own too. It seems Green and K&N perform about the same from what people say and their dyno results testing them.
I cant really say how good the K&N was on mine as it was remapped at the same time as fitting, but the mapper recommended it and indicated it would be well worth the small amount of money at the time of mapping.
