as above im after buying the software and what lead do you need?i have lead ect and software for vag-com for my audi tt, is it the same setup for scooby software thanks ste

 

Vag uses a diferent protocal for OBDII so you're interface unit might not work IIRC. If you want to give it a go anyway, download the free software from ScanTool.net - Home - Welcome to ScanTool.net. It's a fairly basic programme , but at least you can check whether the OBD interface is working or not and look at the CEL codes . If you want more functionality, download ProScan from OBD II Scan Tool Software and Hardware - ProScan. there is a small charge to upgrade the demo programme to allow you to connect to a vehicle but its much more versatile.

 

Ecuexplorer free and excellent for what you need. I bought a VAG OBD cable for £18 off ebay which allows logging ecu reset but not mapping. You need the tactrix OBDII cable at ~£50 for that..
