Default Problem

Guys

Sorry for the long post but please read as your help is needed.

Been for a long run today (150+ miles) to pick new bits for the car up, and as I got close to home the car developed a problem.

It started missing earlier this week, at full throttle and boost the car would loose power for a split second then go again. This again happened today.

As I got near home and went to overtake a dawdler on a 60mph road the car really missed for about a second or two then took off again. Then it lost boost completely.

I pulled over, reved the engine which reved fine with no miss. So I pulled out and put my foot down to see if it happened again.....this time in second there was 2 VERY big jolts so big it came out of 2nd gear, then, running in neutral, the engine wouldn't rev and start to loose revs at WOT.

At this point I put into gear to stop it stalling and limped home, after a few miles the car started to rev ok, but wasn't boosting porperly.

After stopping and letting it cool down i tried to start it and it took about 10 seconds to turn the engine over, plus the engine seemed to catch a cylinder at a time, now when the turbo is building boost at 2000 rpm the car feels sluggish and only pulls past 3000rpm.

Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong.

Spec
MY99 uk turbo
Center de-cat and back box
Cold air feed to standard air box with Simota filter
Bailey Dump Valve
3 month old MAF
STI 5 gearbox and Diff
Exedy organic clutch

Please please please help!!!!

Sounds like your MAF has gone again mate.

Disconnect it to see if it still runs. If it does, most likely knackered.

Sounds like it was hitting fuel cut, which damaged the MAF, which then put it into limp home mode.
