Unhappy Second opinion please

I have a x reg classic with ppp, K&N panel filter an ninja 2 box, its is not running right, it is hesitant an lumpy on idle, you notice it more once its warmed up.

I have had a new sparks, maf an no change, so i got a compression test done an its apperently 9 psi down on one of the cylinders.

The garage said that it maybe a tight valve, so that was checked an it did have a tight valve, so it was adjusted, then run up again an once warmed up it was still the same, they are sayin that it maybe piston rings, can anyone shed some more light on this.

Plus if it was the case what would be a good price to have the this done plus roughly how long would it take to do

cheers

9 psi? Are you sure it was not 9 bar. I only ask because 9psi is nothing, whereas 9 bar is quite a lot. You need to verify the pressure drop to allow a better idea of what is happening.

Steve is correct and 9 psi variance is not uncommon and not noticable when driving.
Sounds like you need to find someone who is experienced with Subarus and knows what they are doing.

The guy is supposed to be a independent subaru specialist an a good mechanic from what i have heard, so i dont know what to believe, he said it was the cylinder closest to the turbo, 3 i think, an im sure he said 9 psi.
