CEL flashed three times - what does it mean?
I was driving my '03 WRX on the M40 at a steady 80 ish and my CEL flashed 3 times and didn't come on again. Does this mean anything? Should i get the car checked?
I thought that if you had a fault the CEL stayed on

I think that if the ecu detects knock and attempts to advance the timing to correct beyond its limit the CEL light will come on to warn. Maybe it had a temporary fueling issue ?

Take it to a friendly dealer and they should check for error codes.
Where abouts are you out of interest..? If you're in the midlands I'd be happy to check it for you via ECUexplorer..

That makes sense. I had a problem a few weeks ago that was diagnosed to either the crank position sensor or the neutral position sensor.
