Default JAP BLOBEYE OWNERS..........

.........I have just purchased a lovely jap blobeye wagon and I have a question.

Next to the foglight switches to the right of steering column I have a button that according to a UK manual, is a button for the "windshield wiper deicer"...........WTF does this mean, and do.........?

The manual with the car is printed in japanese so I can't decipher.

Please help, many thanx.

Si.

ps:anyone know what BHP these run as standard, being Jap I'm not sure.

Cheers bright spark............... what I mean is, if they de-ice surely there would be a visible wire attached to the wipers for the electric feed or at least an electric element.........?

Maybe it's an element on the windscreen?

On my JDM rear wiper has a waving line where the wiper stops. Putting the rear wind screen heater on also puts the wiper de-icer on as it's all one element in the rear window.

Hi Skoosh,

Congrats on the new purchase, you will have to come up and show us again

I have an American Handbook for my JDM STi9 it has that switch in it

"Windshield wiper deicer

The Widsheild wiper deicer operates only when the igniton switch is on.

Before turning on the windshield deicer, remaove any snow from the windsheild. to turn on the windsheild deicer push the switch. The indicator light located on the switch lights up while the windshield deicer is operating.
The winshield deicer will automatically switch off after 15minutes. If the windsheild wiper blades have been deiced completely before that time push the switch to turn it off. It also turns off when the ignition is turned to the ACC or LOCK position, if deicing is not complete when you restart your vehicle, you will have to push the switch again."

hope that helps, sounds to me that its for deicing your front wiper blades to stop them ripping!

Cheers Andy
