Default Urgent - no electrical power at all!

Whilst I was working on the car this morning I managed to briefly short-out the positive wire that goes from the battery to the alternator. Now I have no power at all.

I assume I've blown a fuse. Can anyone tell me where to look?? Its the classic shape.

Please!!

Main fuse box engine bay.

Check the larger amp rated fuses ie 25amp to 45amp.

The main fuses are under the bonnet to the right hand side at the back of the battery (small rectangular box) other fuses are at the right hand side of the steering wheel behind the pull out cubby hole.

Hope this helps

Mega thanks guys!!

Yes, I've blown the 30A fuse in the main fuse box. I've bridged it with a thick piece of wire so I can use the car whilst I get another fuse. Thanks okay isn't it?

There is a reason that your 30 amp fuse has blown, there is also a reason that it is 30 amp, if current exceeds 30 amp it will blow, you have now replaced it with a 200 amp fuse in reality, so if alot of current is drawn again, your entire wiring in the car might melt down, you dont want to change wiring in your car trust me..

Word of advice get i changed asap and dont drive the car until you have

Yeah, I understand. Just tried to get a new fuse at local autofactors but they don't have them so I need to go to Subaru. Hopefully should have a replacement during the week. Until then, it's a risk. I need the car.
