Default Link ECU

Running a Link on my MY00, supplied and installed by BRD.

If I wanted to achieve a lower CO2 reading when having the emmissions checked , would it be OK to replace the Link with the std ECU?

I'm not suggesting that this will enable a decatted car to pass an MOT or anything like that, I just need to get the CO2 levels down a little as it runs fairly rich at idle with the Link.

Thanks.

depends what other mods you have done to the car..

if still on standard injectors, and fuel pressure, and you still have the MAF installed then yes.

MAF is still there. It's one of the latter replacement MAFs, not the original. Injectors and fuel pressure are std. Only other mods are Forge recirc dv and HKS RS induction kit.

Thanks for your reply. I understand you're a bit of a guru when it comes to ECUs. Always nice to get a reply from someone who knows their stuff.

Cheers.

Then you should be able to plug the original ecu in without issue.

have seen unused mafs fail but you won't know that until you try it.

I dunno about that.. I just know more than I knew yesterday and not as much as I will know tomorrow.
