Default Jap Chip

Looked at the ECU on my import 1994 WRX

Its a Z4 and upon opening it up I found it has a board added

This has 2 chips on it labled K4GC8T

Anyone have any information or theories on what it may be

Also is there a chance this may be mappable and who by

Thanks

nick

did you buy the car as a fresh import or from someone over here?
do you have a boost gauge if so what does it read on max boost?
If bought as fresh import the chip may be unsuitable for UK fuel.

Was a direct import

Would boost to 1.2 bar and hit fuel cut

Fitted Dawes to limit it to 1.1 bar

Seems OK on V power, Tesco 99 and Sainsbury Super

best to take it to a rolling road and get it checked as the chip has increased the boost from about 0.9 to 1.2 but not raised fuel cut.
Does it have an uprated fuel pump?

1.2 bar (17.4bar) is the maximum limit the fuel cut can be set at using the standard MAP sensor.
If fuel cut is set in the map the max is around 17.5psi (fuel cut) and 16.5psi mapped boost.
