Front Decat.....any noticeable gains??
I recently bought my 2000 model Classic Turbo and straight away had fitted a different exhaust and centre decat and noticed a difference immediately in how much easier it revs and possibly some performance gains, but i am now considering going the whole hog and buying a Brand New System including Back Box,Centre Decat,AND Front Decat.
What i want to know though is whether it is worth the extra expense and indeed the hassle of having it fitted,as i have been told that it is a much more labour intensive job than the centre one,and that removing the old one can cause the bolts to shear, which then need re-drilling etc etc(and knowing my luck !!!).
Have many of you guys done it,and if so,did you experience any of the above problems,or is it just scaremongering by the "specialists" so they can charge you more?
P.s.If i do go down this route,is anyone interested in my current Hayward & Scott Back Box and Centre Decat for a sensible amount of money

Without doubt a very good mod mate. I did mine a month or two ago adding to backbox and centre decat and the difference is very worthwhile. the turbo generally spools up a lot better and it feels noticeably more responsive.
Also, much more audible turbo whistle and occasional pops and bangs from the exhaust on over-run
Just don't forget the annual MOT hassle of getting it through with only the centre cat...... unless you keep swapping the downpipe.
Fitted mine on the drive. Had no problems really. All bolts came off easily. The hardest part was getting the intercooler back on although it may be possible to change the downpipe without removing it.
Good luck
