i bought a pair of black diamond drilled and groved discs for my96 scoobie about a year ago put tarox pads on them. now my pads have worn, got some new ones, went to check discs and found they were cracking from the drill holes one crack is about 2mm to 3mm. i do take the car to my limits say higher than mt everest so is this normal and what other kind of discs could you recomend.

do you keep the car moving after you hammer it (eg let them cool down) very hot pads in the one spot will crack the disc.

I had the same problem with Black diamond discs and ferrodo DS2500 pads.

its either discs and pads all the time or a set of AP's

Personally I'd go for the latter.

A timely post - I'm looking for a set of discs and pads and was looking at the Black Diamond discs as an option.

I'll go back to my original plan of Tarox discs and fast road pads.....

It's not necessarily the make of the discs but more likely the fact that they're drilled. Even AP recognise (see they're site re 'disc selection') drilled disc's are prone to cracking around the holes and therefore recommend grooved only for track/hard use..!
