Remote key fob question - 2001 STI JDM Bugeye
Got a 2001 JDM STI bugeye and to my delight I found the keyfob for it (NOT an alarm fob, just for locking/unlocking car).
To my un-delight after changing (what I thought) was weak batteries I have to spend up to 45 seconds randomly aiming and pressing the button at the car until the bloody thing locks. Or until I give up and use the keys.
Can anyone tell me where the sensor is inside the car so I can zap it properly? For some reason near the rear window at the back of the car works sometimes...but sometimes not. It is doing my head in.

behind the dash under the steering column, when you can 'see' it thorugh the back window you get the best signal....should work better than that tho' summat must be wrong. Try holding the key to your head when you press the button.....don;t laugh, it works!

OK just tried that - better, but not what I would call consistent.
I'll probably just get an alarm slung in, the new receiver should be better than the ****e one Subaru install...
Thanks for the help anyways!
