Default NE1 had a MY01 remap without decat downpipe?

Hi

I'm running a MY01 WRX bugeye with a panel filter, Prodrive backbox and soon to be decat centre pipe - but still leaving a resonated centre and the cats in the up and down pipes.

I was thinking about putting a Dawes on it to give a bit of boost increase to give PPP levels of performance but feel that a remap might be best.

I know that ideally the best route would be to at least decat the downpipe before mapping but that's something I'm not keen on doing right now (cost and noise) - so was wondering if anyone on here as had a Tek2 done with only the backbox and centre cat taken out?

Any gut feel as to what BHP it might push out then? (possibly around 240-50?).

Cheers
Richard.

No issues remapping it - you want the full EcuTek (Tek 3), not Tek 2.

You just won't be able to run high boost with the up-pipe cat in place. Won't impact peak bhp as much as mid range tourque. On a full decat car over 1.3 peak boost can be run on the TD04 but will tail off up the rev range all the same. Yours shouldn't be mapped higher than peak 1.15 bar IMHO.

You ought to get just over 250bhp and will definately notice it.
