Default oil pressure

not sure if i should be worried or not but the oiil pressure on my scoob is alot higher on idle than it used to be, had engine rebuilt (maybe uprated oil pump, not sure) before this the oil pressure would be 3 bar at idle and rise to 7 while driving... since engine change it would still say 7 while driving (7 is max the gauge shows) but would sit at 5 bar on idle. this was with the running in oil so i wasnt to shocked to see it then saying 6 bar on idle after the oil change, what im wondering tho is if this is abit high?? would it matter? havent seen any leaks or anything but does this sound normal ??

Are you running thicker oil?
Some cars tick over at 50 psi and run around 100 psi. 3.5 bar/7bar. 5 bar tick over if hot sounds a lot but is not necesarily a problem.
I suggest you speak to whoever rebuilt the engine to see if they can shed light on it.

I'm running mobil 1 15w/50 in a 97MY UK and fitted an oil pressure gauge after API re-built the bottom-end last year.
Been running sweet ever since.

If you're seeing 6-7bar at idle when the engine is cold then that's ok.
Hot idle should be between 2 and 3 bar, depending on how much you've cooked the oil. Your high speed/load pressures look to the same as mine.

PS - My sender is tee'd to the oem sender location (under alternator)

yeah, could just be something as simple as a dodgy ground connection from your sender. Had that with mine and the gauge stupid readings, especially at idle.
Good Luck...
