Broken Metal Pipe?
Today I purchased some brake cleaner and performed the boost solenoid cleaning procedure, including the associated pipes.
I have an STI V2 with a solenoid which has three pipes, one of them to a hollow black box which goes between the air filter box and the inlet to the turbo. The pipe which goes from the solenoid to this box slides over a short metal pipe which goes into the box itself. However it didn't seem to be fixed in place. Instead, it was loose to slide in and out. When I did pull it out of the box I noticed that it looked like the end of it had been hacksawed off, instead of having a lip. I gaffer taped it to hold it more firmly in place.
Any one know what could be going on
John
