Default FMIC Fitted, but confused..

Managed to get my HKS front mount IC with hard pipes fitted to the car the other day, which I have to say wasn't as hard as I was expecting (apart from cutting the bumper to make enough space for the cooler, bit of a mess now ).

Anyways, it was only after fitting it I realised there isn't any takeoff from the piping to fit to the recirc valve! Surely the car needs one or it could damage the turbo??

Any thoughts much appreciated

Kris

there should be a take off for a dump valve.. near the throttle body iirc on the HKS.. it will not be for a bolt on like original (depending on year).

If you have a IHI VF series turbo then you need a dumpvalve.. if you have a TD05 then you can run without a dumpvalve.

Hmm well I'm stumped then, its on my classic RA (95 plate) so think its a tdo5 or similar. Theres nothing on any of the pipes, unless its been blanked off by someone else never mind ill get my mate to weld one on for me.

Cheers dude!

can get away with no dump valve on a TD05 if you want to.

Assume the intercooler is secondhand then?

Yeah got the front mount and hard pipe kit for a price I couldn't resist! And even worse, its the start of the downhill slope that is modifying a car. Picked up a 2.5 block, crank and lightweight flywheel at the weekend for a long term build! What have I got myself into
