Default 2001 wrx missing on acceleration

Hi, just bought a 2001 bug eye and it has started to miss on medium to hard acceleration and is worse when the engine is hot. The engine seems fine at tickover and when cruising at 90mph so i hope it's nothing serious? Could it be plugs, leads breaking down if so how easy or not? is it to get to the plugs?? The car has missed two services since the 45k service and has now done 63k so it is due for new plugs i think anyway? Help!!!!!!!!

Cheers!

Check the plugs and leads. If the engine's been steam cleaned there could be a bit of dampness in there.

Normally you'd get misfire codes with a engine check Light (CEL) - When my 02 WRX had worn plugs (only lasted 22,000 approx as tuned engine at time), the CEL was going off all the time.

Def have a look at plug quality and change if you have no record of them being changed for ages.

Looked on the listers subaru service sheet for the 30k service and it hasn't listed plugs? Lists everything else but not plugs which makes me think did they do them?? Cambelt was done at 45k.. How easy or not is it to get at the plugs?

Cheers
