Default How far can you tune an STi2?

My brother has just bought an sti 2 from japan, standard spec.
How far can you tune one of these before you have to get really serious? I'm talking new turbo, injectors and FMIC with a remap.
Would 350BHP be out of the question?
I've heard rumours that simply a scoobychip and decat can give 300BHP.

cheers

Well i have been there done that since i got my sti2 over 3 years ago. Basically the 'box has trouble handling the standard 270bhp but you will def. need to budget for the following for 350bhp:

Injectors, Bigger tmic/fmic, some kind of programmable ecu (apexi power fc etc), new clutch, new later sti 5 or 6 gearbox/gearbox rebuild with uprated parts, full decat/race cat, boost controller of some kind, headers & up-pipe.

The turbo will take you to 330-350bhp but it is the other supporting bits that you have to look at.

depending on your engine you can get 300bhp (or close to) with just a chip and a decat. It just depends on your luck. I only managed the standard 270bhp with a decat/chip but my friend who also has an sti2 managed to get 293 out of his (all RR proved).

hmm, quite a lot of work to be done to support 350bhp then.
Think it may just be a decat and scoobychip when it gets here and see how it goes.

On another note I found a site about 18 months ago which was a register of all STi 1 and 2's that were known about in the UK, cant find it now. Think it was called something like sti100 and sti200 but I cant find it anywhere on google. Anybody have a link to it?

Wonder if you are talking about Marky-San's register?

yep, that looks like it. quite a bit different to the last time I was there, I'm sure it had tabs for '100' and '200' with lists of known cars.
Would quite like a list of cars that are known about, always found the sti 1 and 2's interesting for their limited numbers.
