Default Headlights !

Guys,
I have 95 WRX Import and the headlights are about as much use as a candle on the bonnett !
Will an upgraded bulb improve things ?
I have seen these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA...QQcmdZViewItem

Will they be an improvement ?

James

Dunno but I used the fancy uprated output ones from Halfords, I think they were their own brand, and surprisingly enough, they DID actually make a serious difference. Definitely worth having - like you, I found my original Scoob headlights were shockingly bad.

there's a group buy in the 'for sale' section for some proper HID's, i think they're about 125quid...........

I've just bought a set of PIAA's and the difference is immense, i'd say i could see double the distance at night now, they did cost 60quid but worth it......

get the best you can afford, i guarantee it'll be cheaper than hittin a tree!

i bought the osram silver star bulbs from www.powerbulbs.co.uk supposed to be 50% brighter! they made a big difference to the standard bulbs i had incouldnt believe the difference! think they were £15.95 with a free set of phillips sidelight bulbs included and free delivery so they dont break the bank like the piaa ones even though id like to try them
hope this helps ian

One of the problem with the headlights is the voltage at the bulbs is low,do a search for the mod using relays, also crystal lamps and higher watt bulbs could help..

Reflectors in classics are utter pants.

Tried Osrams silverstars but ended up with *ahem* 80/100W bulbs

yea i have some silverstars here as well

although the 80/100w`s were my weapon of choice, they dont last very long

i bought some "plasma blue hyper white" jobbies from ebay, which look pretty much identical to the ring sports blue ones i had fitted before

i think there rated at normal wattage but they claim to give out 100/110w or something. they are pretty much on par with the ring sports blue i had fitted before, and i got them for £6 deliverd the pair

What's the score with the wiring if nyou upgrade to 80/100w bulbs then ?
Am i going to fry the wiring or not ?
If i do fit them should i check the lights are not to high ?

When I had my classic, they were fitted when I got it, JDM STi Type R, changed them to 55/60's then back again

Never had any problems with melted looms.
