any one know or have pics of air box prob
right i had it in my head to fit an induction kit today and thught ide make the most of it by making it out of bits and bobs (as you do )
its a my96 uk turbo wagon pre facelift
right this all works ok BUT
1 the car will not idle anymore
2 its a bit lumpy all thrugh the gears but alot faster
i think i know what it is but not shore
to the left hand side of the power stering res there is a tube like tube
with 3 lines going out of it one went to the air box and the rest to the engin
there is no way i can fit it on so i left it of thinking it was just taking in a little air
or is it the maf not liking the filter ???
has any one got any pics of what to do or pont me in the direction im going
with thanks

KIT
Its not that pipe mate as when you fit an induction kit there is nowhere for that pipe to go so you just leave it to fresh air ! i have a 94 uk wagon with the same set up with the large plastic canister sitting by the inner wing ! what induction kit have you fitted ?? i have an hks kit and no problems with it pulls well !

KIT
I think you should fit the standard air box back in and either get a panel filter or a proper induction kit made for the car before you damage something ! is the cone filter an oil soaked one ? if so its mucking up the maf sensor !

right i found out the prob simple as it was there is a big hose that comes from the engin to the little air box i thught this was a brether so i put a little k&n filter on it as i could not plug it in anyway to cut a long story you need to keep this thing pluged in to the little air box as if you dont the car dont idle
and i cant just put the cone on like all you wrx boys cuz mines a uk turbo and i have abs right were the filter would fit

I'm using an induction kit on my car. At first me and my mate just bodged a k&n on replacing the, I believe it's a resonance box with silicon pipe and leaving the breathers VTA. Wouldn't tick over for ****, so had to put the resonator box back in. Since bought an Apexi power intake from a lad on here, comes with the pipe to replace the resonator box:
My cars an MY94 WRX with ABS and fits a treat. If you notice in the pics that the breather pipes are attached to the alloy Apexi item where the res box would be.
As you can see from the above pic, I've removed the cover from the underside of the vent, hopefully improving air flow. Only real downside is, living with temperamental weather, and not knowing what's gonna happen, it's got to be bagged up over night. Thats quicker than replacing the vent cover:
Not very pleasing to the eye, but better than a water soaked kit
Hope that helps
