Default To all ecu mappers

To all those far more clever than i, If the standered ECU with ECUTEK is so good and it self learns etc. Why bother with after market ECU ?.

Apart from running Maf less, is there any reason ?

I have a new age, and i have had many remaps, due to various upgrades and want to go futher.

The only thing i am not impressed with on OEM ECU is the boost control, several different mappers have tried to get good boost response but with no luck. I now have fitted a Turbo XS closed loop DTEC boost controller and problem sorted.

Also if ECU is way to go which is best ? Gems, Motec, Link, Autronic ?

Look forward to your response.

Jase.

Well i would go for a make of ecu that u can get mapped locally as it saves having to travel long distances every time you get afew more mods. i run a Gems mapped by Steve Simpson at http://www.tegsport.co.uk/ who now makes his own ecu which does everything the Gems does but alot less money which is well worth a look at.
