Better than intercooler water spray!!!
After having a temperature probe in my inlet (ooh er ) for the last 4 weeks, i've noticed that the intercooler water spray on my 95 sti does absolutely nothing to the inlet temps..........
so, today at a moment of pure genius ( ), i disconnected the water sprayers and left the water pipe over the inlet of the turbo. now when i spray the water, i get an almost immediate drop of the inlet temps ( upto 2 degrees )
what i need to know is...........will this damage anything in regards to the turbo?

I suppose if the turbo is very hot and you spray cold water on it there is a chance that it could fracture. Think that's what happened to my manifold on Wednesday a V spirited drive then through some standing water. Result one slow and noisy car and wallet £700 lighter. Oops

nah, the inlet temp probe is between the intercooler and the throttlebody so the water is being sprayed nowhere near the probe (it's further away now).
im might be a placebo effect but I think I can actually notice the difference!

the water is spraying at the point where the turbo joins with the pipe (samco hose) that connects to the intercooler.........the water does slightly splash onto the inlet of turbo.......i take it this is bad then....... it works well too

I'm sure Subaru would have designed there cars to do this originally if it was safe to do. I think you may have some nasty problems if you continue to do it.
