De-Cat Done !!
Just finished fitting a decat downpipe........ bit of a struggle and a few grazed knuckles but great improvement.
Better spool, holding boost far longer and sounds f***ing fantastic on full chat. Certainly seems to have a bit more go in thetop half of the rev range
Finish up tomorrow with an HKS FCD and a touch more boost from the Dawes and then thats about it for now
I'm aiming for about 1.25 bar. Anyone done similar (full de-cat, K&N panel, boost increase)... what sort of output on MY98 UK car is likely.... I'm hoping for 250-260 flywheel
Think the next thing on the agenda is a whiteline rear ARB and droplinks.... maybe next month if the wife is in a good mood.
Cheers all

did mine a while ago, a my 98uk as yours and does make a nice difference higher up the rev range and sounds brill. id watch going to high with the boost tho, fuel cut is there for a reason. im tempted with the FCD idea, wanna get a AFR fitted first tho. i think at 1.25bar and a decat you should be near your figures, others will be along soon im sure

Already got a AFR and knocklink fitted lightwave so I am happy to play around so long as no changes in the displays become apparent. I'll post up later today what sort of boost figures I have managed.... might be useful info for you if you start tweaking the boost.

FCD now one and boost at 1.25 bar....
No apparent problems whatsoever, AFR still has solid blue on WOT and no extra KL activity beyond 1st green, actually no change from when first fitted on standard engine so I'm dead chuffed
Did have approx 1.3 bar for a while but seemed to have a bit of misfire at high revs, plugs maybe, so backed of a touch.
I'll wait for the cooler weather now and see how things are then.
Might also get a set of iridium plugs to ruile them out.
Overall, car feels like a different machine.... hope it holds together!!!
