just had my my04WRX fully decatted(up + downpipe) and i am now getting a strange noise when the turbo is boosting . i know it will sound different after decatting,like the lolly stick in the spokes,but this noise is louder and just doesn't seem right. anyone decatted thier new age and noticed this noise or have i got a leak or something? got to get it sorted before Saturday- getting re map. any help be appreciated.

Not sure mate? but when i decatted my classic the turbo whistle was a lot louder. Maybe if you explain your noise a bit more people may know ???????

 

you can get a loud noise when turbo is kicking in sounds 10 times louder than it should? usually this is down to it blowing or pipe from intercooler not connected properly to turbo so best to check them all

 

The noise you mention i get this when the car is cold when you start it up and goes after about 5 mins on tick over other than that did you have a look at the turbo shaft when you changed the pipes to see if there was any play
