Would be a good idea when the car has not been mapped

You're safer than most with a UK, non Sti, but personally I would get the knocklink, better safe than sorry. It's the first thing I got before I did any serious mods to my car, even though I was advised it should be fine. At the end of the day, it costs less than £200, a new engine/rebuild costs how much??

FWIW When I had my Walbro 255lph fuel pump uprated prior to a remap I was advised by my mapper to take it easy on the journey to him.
