Default Steering Rack Arms?

do the steering rack arms remove somehow?

my rack does not leak, make noises, or do anything bad, except the parts where the track rod ends bolt on are buggered up, to adjust the tracking is a nightmare involving lots of oxy heat and buggered knuckles.

my tracking was reset today after changing the front hub/etc etc and one side has pretty much seized up, even with lots of heat, while the other side was able to move when heated up (glowing red to get the thing to turn!!)

we got the car tracked up, but its been getting progressively worse over the years and, TBH i think next time around, there wont be any adjustment available

from what i have searched so far, a replacement rack is £300 ish, somebody saying the arms are only £10 per side would be nice news

it was my mate who does my tracking who sugessted that the arms might be removable?

Mickey they are, pull the gaiters off and behind (with the rack extended for that side) you will see a little steel lockin plate, knock that back and use a spanner on the 'flats' (32mm from memory???)

Bonus!!

can you buy the arms separate?

might have to look for a salvage rack to steal the arms off , i assume the arms will come off with the rack in situ?
