gonna do my first oil change since i bought the car last week...

its on 70k.....what shall i put in it?? Halfords said...Castrol 0/40w or an equivalent Duckhams....thing is...them muppets have cocked up my last 2 modding orders,so i dont trust them!!

btw...do i get a Subaru oil filter too?

 

Definately a Subaru filter and new compression washer. As for the oil, if you have a Euro Car Parts nearby and you don't mind bulk buying then get 25 litres of Fuchs Titan Supersyn SL 5W40 for 86 quid. A superb fully synthetic oil. Works out around 16 quid per 4 1/2 litre change by buying the 25l drum.

I wouldn't put 0W in any Scooby and with yours starting to creap up on mileage a 10W may even be recommended, especially if you're running power mods or regularly track.

Other than that, look at any fully synth by Silkolene, Fuchs, Motul or Millers, but expect to pay 40 quid upwards for a bottle, and the thieving gits often do 4 litre bottles so you'll need two, or at least an extra 1 litre bottle to make it up, pushing the cost up even higher.
